Martha Marcy May Marlene Movie Story Line:- This thriller revolves around Martha, who’s trying hard to release herself from the shackles of a cult that has bruised her mind quite terribly. Perhaps, it isn’t that easy. Watch Martha Marcy May Marlene online and witness the frailty of a woman, who has been victimized to an extent that deadly illusions seem to keep her unnerved, day in and day out! In a desperate move to seek reprieve, she knocks at the doors of Lucy, her sister. Lucy and her husband Adam are vacationing at their Connecticut vacation home, and take Martha along with them. Even the serene and picturesque locales don’t seem to offer any relief to Martha’s perturbed state of mind. As her thought process plunges back into the past, very often putting her in a tizzy and Lucy in dilemma, one simply hopes that peace of mind dawns upon Martha. Her life seems to be beyond repair when her attempts of getting solace go in vain, and the worst part is that one can only sympathize with her, oblivious of a way-out of her traumatic condition.

Martha Marcy May Marlene Movie Review:- A study of loss and loneliness, Martha Marcy May Marlene is a beautifully wrought tale of a young woman, Martha (Elizabeth Olsen), who escapes a cult in upper New York State but never its influence. As she rehabs at her sister's home, director Sean Durkin intercuts between the two years in the cult farm and her current home with her sister, Katie (Maria Dizzia), to show the overlap between the two worlds haunted by father figures and Manson-like attitudes.

Martha's experience in the cult is reflected in the multiple personalities of the title: Is she really a rebel? Is she looking for her father in the low-key leader Patrick (John Hawkes) or even her brother-in-law, Ted (Hugh Dancy), or is she reacting to the loss of her mother? Who knows? because all of the above can be blended into the actions of a young woman uncertain of her identity or of where she would like to be in life.

I'm not surprised this film won the Sundance best director award and Cannes Prix de la Jeunesse, for Durkin's numerous close-ups are affectionate studies of a lost young woman, and his cutting seamlessly between the past and the present is masterful, with no small help from editor Zachary Stuart-Pontier.

I once or twice was lost in a time period, but I quickly adjusted when the reality check emerged.
